UPFI believes that the wellbeing of poor communities and sound psychosocial conditions for children are prerequisite to being able to create a peaceful and stable society.

UPFI therefore aims to build the capacities of and empower people affected by conflict to develop capacities and resilience that facilitate successful reintegration/integration into their families and communities; as such they will be able to avoid or resolve future conflict situations and improve their livelihoods. This includes improving the psychosocial wellbeing of children, and highlighting the problems, needs and rights of children in war-affected areas.
